GO DADDY GO!

He did it! He did it! Our Daddy ran a half marathon! And not only did he finish, he was able to walk around after and carry Siena. I couldn't be at the finish line due to some logistical difficulties including my car seat already being at the finish line.

So as of right now the official results aren't in, but according to Daddy's watch, his time was 1:47:31, which he feels really good about. Though he says, "Ask me how good I feel about it again tomorrow, when I actually have to walk around all day again."

Anyway, he told me all about it afterward, but if you want the full story, you'll have to get it from him, because after all this blog is about me and my sister. Here's some photos:

Gymnastics, oh yeah!

So Mommy broke down and did something really exciting. She signed ME up for gymnastics. A friend of hers told her about a class at the Fairmont Recreation Center in Sugar House for kids just my size. Her daughter, my friend Annabelle, was doing the class. We had already missed one and we were going to miss another so Mommy almost didn't sign up because the cost wasn't working out well. I'm so glad she changed her mind. We showed up for my first class and only one other girl was there. She seemed a lot bigger than me and could do more stuff but it was awesome. There are supposed to be 5 kids in the class and we basically got a private lesson! My teacher, Miss Jennifer, had us stretch and jump up and down. Then she took us in to a room that has a wide balance beam that was really close to the ground. She set up an obstacle course and didn't really expect me to be able to jump, but JUMP I DID! I also did an assisted hand stand and all kinds of fun stuff. Then we went back to the warm up room and she set up a different obstacle course. This time I started to learn how to do a somersault. (See above photo!) I think I'm gonna like this sport! I can't wait to go back.

Are you sick of photos of us cute girls? Mommy's not. Halloween is a photo opportunity. Don't worry. She can't think of a good reason for pictures in the next few days. You can have a break!

Here is me actually AWAKE in my pumpkin costume!

It's awfully dark, but you can tell that Siena actually put her witch hat on.

Siena had a MAJOR melt down before going to Aunt Rachel's Trunk or Treat party. She didn't enjoy being woken up from a 3 hour nap. Do you think she's sick? But luckily, once we were actually at the party she seemed to warm up to everybody. She even went running after Aunt Rachel. Look at the picture again and you'll notice all moist areas of her face has green missing!

After the little trunk or treat, we went back to Aunt Rachel's house. Siena took a bath with Romney and played with toys.

I hung out with Emma. Cousins are the best.

Happy Halloween!

I'm THREE months old today! Time flies. I now weigh around 12 lbs. Mommy hopes the scale is wrong, but not necessarily about me. Something to do with it saying the same numbers as a month ago. She was mumbling. I decided not to ask! So let's talk about ME. I still do not quite laugh yet. I do a lot of coughing and what Mommy calls "beginner giggles". I just haven't broken through yet. I am a very smiley baby though. I love to open my eyes in the morning and see Mommy's face. I have discovered that my hands are covered in chocolate (or at least I think so). I think Siena is the greatest person EVER. I have found my voice and like to squawk and chirp throughout the day. Siena still LOVES to hold me and lay her head on me and kiss me and come over and ask me "What happened?" when I cry. Then she'll grab me around the middle and say "Come 'ere". Luckily she's not strong enough to actually pick me up.
Oh yeah and I have abs of steel. I prefer this position even when in my carseat.

Oma and Apa....what a scream!

Tonight was our ward's Halloween party. I would NOT cooperate for photos. Cara was once again sleeping so we didn't get photos of her either. However, we will prevail tomorrow! Mommy will not rest until she gets a good photo even if she has to take 50. On a side note, isn't it amazing what digital photography has done to us. Mommy already has 142 photos in October ALONE. And tomorrow is actually Halloween. She'll get to AT LEAST 150. So sad. Anyway, this post is all about Oma and Apa. They dressed up in costumes and boy, were they good! Apa was a veterinarian and trainer while Oma was the troll on the leash. Aren't they great?!

Oh no!

Oh no it's snowing! Your thoughts, Siena?

Okay maybe that was clever editing on Mommy's part since Siena didn't cry until after we had come back in, but she didn't LOVE the snow. So Mommy thinks that Siena is on her side. But yes, regardless, the first snow of the season is here. It's been snowing since 7 am I think and about one this afternoon it started to melt while it was still snowing, but at one point there was about two inches of the fluffy stuff piling up.



Lucky for us, we happened to take a few family photos on Sunday! The fall colors were beautiful and Daddy coordinated our outfits just right. (I'm not kidding! He picked out Siena's outfit and said we should all try to match!) Siena wasn't being especially helpful so I chose not to smile also. But at least we're both looking at the camera.

This is Daddy's favorite picture of Mommy and me. Ah sweet. He called Mommy beautiful.

Afterward, Siena romped around in the yard. Also with inspiration, we hung out in the backyard yesterday afternoon. We played and swang and kicked balls around. Siena took one look at the backyard today and said: "Grass?!"

This Is The Place

So Mommy had never been to the "This Is The Place Heritage Park" before even though we go right next to it to go to the zoo. Well she noticed all the signs this year about having your kids come in costume and trick or treating at the park. That lead to us getting dressed up in our Halloween costumes a week early to try and teach Siena how to do this whole "trick or treat" thing. It was overcast and a little chilly but lucky both of our costumes are inherently warm. Mommy was a little upset that the October season pricing didn't apply to today and that we had to pay full price, but she got over it once we got inside. It's really a neat little pioneer village. We didn't go in the houses much, but what kind of freaked Mommy out was the replica of the Pine Valley meeting house that is almost exact.

Siena in her witch costume. Her hat freaks her out because Mommy pointed out that it has a spider on it. (Nice, Mommy. Nice.) She's also supposed to have a green face and black lips but the green face makeup just gave her a slightly sick look and she licked off all the black lip color.

I am adorable in my pumpkin costume. Mommy noticed that my eyes are actually slightly open in this picture which is amazing because I gave the impression of being in a sound sleep through the whole experience. I took a VERY long nap.

Siena rode on both a train and a pony. She actually went on the first lap of the pony ride without holding on to Daddy's hand, but then she decided she was nervous.


I think sister's favorite part though was getting to pet goats and sheep....okay and maybe the suckers and hard candy she got. She kept petting the animals at lightening speed and Mommy probably took 10 pictures and most of them looked like the one with the goat. Actually she was lucky if she even got Siena in the picture at all!
