Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween, everybody! I actually got to go trick or treating for the first time this year! I said trick or treat at the right times at our ward trunk or treat. Mommy didn't bother having Cara fill up a bucket. She was content to suck on a sucker for most the evening. I even got to go for a pony cart ride!


We had fun the whole day long. We went to my friend Tegan's dad's studio where he was taking cute pictures of us for Halloween. Mommy didn't get a digital copy of it but here is what it looked like with just Cara in the shot. I was struggling with being my usual shy self however the finished picture is adorable of the both of us. Mommy was going for scary costumes but really....we were just too cute.


And then we went and hung out at the Rosenbruch Wild Animal Museum. They were having a ghost counting contest and a costume contest and I had a lot of fun looking through my binoculars and petting some of the animals. (Okay so the animals are "stuffed" but it's still cool...people have described it as the dead animal museum, really the perfect place to spend Halloween.)



Oh and to finish this Halloween post, here are the pumpkins we carved...when I say we...I mean Mommy and Grandpa. I have a bizarre phobia and didn't even want to be in the room when they carved them. The witch one is technically Aunt Angie's pumpkin but the other two are the ones Cara and I picked out ourselves!


Oh just a quick P.S.
Cara is 15 months old TODAY! She really is a little toddler and no longer a baby. We will find out her stats in a couple days and then we'll do a better official post of the silly things she is doing now. The big focus is that we might have broke the 20 lb mark! Yea!

Halloweeny Type Stuff....

So I apologize if you looked at this post last night when Mommy published the post instead of saving it. I hadn't even written anything about the pictures! A quick side note, the video of Cara and I dancing in our spider costumes finally uploaded on our last post so check it out!

Anyway...we have been getting in to the Halloween festivities. Aunt Angie helped me make and decorate sugar cookies.

And then later that night, Mommy and Daddy took me to the Staheli Family Farm! It reminded Mommy of our visit to This is The Place park last Halloween. I am even wearing my witch costume again! (Mommy apologizes for my general haphazard appearance...it's too hard to fight a three year old on looks.) The big attracation at the farm is their corn maze but it was really cold and I was having too much fun looking at all the animals and playing in the dirt so we never even went in. We even got to ride in a tractor trailer and go to a pumpkin patch and pick out our own pumpkins!


Cara loved the little tiny pumpkins so much that she never let go of hers until she fell asleep. Look closely in this picture and you can see it in her hands:

The highlight of the evening was the pig races...I loved cheering for the pigs. The highlight for Mommy and Daddy was that they were playing music overhead and because I play the Just Dance game so much, I recognized the songs and would sing and try and do the dances. This is the very end of my routine with "Who Let the Dogs Out." Mommy missed the best part because she was crying from laughing so hard. I also danced and sang to Katy Perry's "Hot N Cold". We might have to take a break from the dancing game.

What we've been up to...

Not too many exciting things...that's what we've been up to. Very day to day. However because it's Halloween time and we have a new favorite game. We spend a lot of time in our costumes and play Just Dance. And when I say a lot of time, Mommy means every day we play Just Dance for at least five minutes. The video finally uploaded! Please excuse Mommy's singing...these songs just beg to be sung seeing as how they put the words on the bottom of the screen. Plus we dance more if she sings.


In other news, Mommy has recently had a breakthrough with my potty training. Excuse the graphic nature of the following paragraph. I do really well most days but Number Two can sometimes be a royal battle. I do like to hold it in and it seems like if Mommy and Daddy don't catch me in the right stage of clenching just whisking me off to the bathroom does not help and we end up with endless rounds of needing to change underwear for small..um "streaks" ah hem. However, Mommy had a stroke of genius one day and set me up with our piano bench and my beloved Tinker Bell version of "Where's Waldo". I was in there for a little bit and SUCCESS! But it was the next day or the day after when I did the clench thing that Mommy tried the bench thing right away and she literally walked out of the bathroom put a dish away and I announced I was done. Genius! I just needed a good book!

Cousin Time!

I mentioned previously that my cousins Romney, Chase and Emma got to come and sleep at my house. Well Mommy is finally helping me get around to telling you about our awesome weekend! C, R, E and Aunt Rachel all came down on Thursday and stayed clear until Sunday. We played at parks, swam in my Grandma's newly finished pool (okay that's a whole post in and of itself but it's really just a BIG spa but to us it's a pool!), ate yummy quesadillas and french fries, and watched Harry Potter. The bummer part was that I was kind of sick and fell asleep at like 6:30 pm on both Friday and Saturday nights....however we still had tons of fun. The highlight being that we played my new dancing game that I got for my birthday. I love it and Cara and Emma were even getting in to it. On a side note, we previously played this game at Grandma's house and Uncle Eric and Daddy are quite the dancers...especially with U Can't Touch This and Pump up the Jam.

Halloween Time....

My Mommy is a fan of Halloween. She wouldn't claim it as her FAVORITE holiday but it's pretty close. She loves the decorations and the costumes and the regular clothes with a Halloween flair. Thus the outfits above. Actually, Grandma bought them for us but Mommy could barely wait until October and a cold enough day for long pants and long sleeves. Luckily it was cold the first week of October! Aren't we cute?

I have been wearing my witch costume (that was bought for me two years ago) all around the house and telling people I am a bad witch. (Today however I informed them that I was not a bad witch, I was a grumpy witch.) And when people ask what I am going to be for Halloween, I say "a witch." Mommy didn't even know that I knew how to answer that question! She has other plans for Cara and I to be scary spiders together.

Anyway, I just got done with a weekend of cousin time at MY house this time. Romney and Chase and Emma came down with Aunt Rachel and we got to play and sleep over. Mommy still has to upload the pictures but let us just say it was much fun and I can't wait to play again.

Happy Birthday, Aunt Margaret!

We just took what feels like our quickest trip ever to SLC! For most people, it's an ordinary weekend trip but we haven't done one of those in a long time. We normally go up or down an extra day longer than the weekend. But this time Mommy had to work both Friday and Monday so no extra day.

Anyway, we went up to celebrate with Aunt Margaret because it's her birthday, today, 10-10-10! We ate a yummy brunch with the family minus Uncle Adam's California family oh and Uncle Troy because he has an appointment with an elk? I didn't understand. Regardless, we ate and played and celebrated. I also got to spend lots of time playing with Romney and Chase. I even got to have a sleep over with them! It was only supposed to be a late over but then Daddy finished his party later than Mommy wanted to drag sleeping children in to a cold car so we all just crashed at Aunt Rachel's.

Daddy was having a party with his buddies, Uncles Greg, Braden, Darren, and Taylor and their families. We ate homemade pizza with chips and homemade salsa (thanks Apa!) and a yummy salad and nice cold drinks. We hung out at Uncle Braden's new house. He just got married so Uncle Darren's little girl, Ruby, and I decided to welcome Aunt Stephanie to the crew by helping her put off the decision of children for a few years.

We were only in Salt Lake for a mere 40 hours but we hit the zoo twice! So all in all it was a good trip.

Funny Things

This post is about my enthralling little sister, Cara. There have just been some silly things that she has been doing over the last couple of weeks that need to be documented before we forget the details!

Her temper is starting to get the best of Mommy and Daddy. She goes from all is well to a 10 on the "I'm upset scale" without any stops between. She's been a mostly pleasant little girlie but she's been spending a little time just "crying it out" in her crib for a few minutes. (It's more like screaming it out.) I know that that doesn't seem silly but you see the other night at 2:30 in the morning Cara started stirring. She's lucky enough to still get brought in to Mommy and Daddy's bed so when she was stirring it was more like kicking her feet in to Mommy's sides. On this night, Daddy was in my room because I was having a nightmare. Anyway, she kind of konked her head on the headboard and it upset her so she started crying. Mommy tried the usual tricks of laying her on Mommy's chest or snuggling her in to the crook of Mommy 's neck but this just seemed to upset Cara more. So eventually Mommy stood up and put a screaming Cara in her crib while Mommy took an early morning potty break. While she was in the bathroom, Mommy started hearing a strange noise gong along with the screaming. When she came around the corner, she and Daddy (who heard all the commotion and came to investigate) found our itty bitty Cara shaking the foot and side rails of her crib with all her might and kind of bouncing up and down as hard as she could while screaming. Mommy and Daddy couldn't help but giggle at the absurdity of the temper tantrum. Eventually, turning on Sesame Street was the only answer to get her to calm down and insanely smiled and giggled at Elmo before almost collapsing into a deep sleep.

The other silly thing that refuses to be caught on camera is Cara's "OH" face. If she hears something interesting or sees something interesting, her eyes get big and she makes a little tiny o with her mouth and it is so striking and so funny that you keep finding interesting things just so she'll do it. Today, Mommy went to get a screaming Cara out of her crib when Mommy's cell phone rang. Mid cry-Cara did her "oh" face.
