PhotoBooth Obsession

Any Mac user out there will know what this is about with just a glance at the title. For all your PCers out there, let me tell you, Mac's come standard with an application called "Photobooth". And it's addicting. There are all these fun effects that you apply as you are taking your pictures and it can just get GOOFY. Way back when Mommy and Daddy got their first Mac, Mommy's brothers and sister came out to visit and had quite the party just playing with this one application.

In fact, once Grandma and Grandpa got their own Mac, Photobooth became the regular past time. So much so that despite the fact that Mommy recently went through and attempted to delete some of their pictures, they still have over 400 photos in just their photobooth. Part of that is my fault, I am OBSESSED with taking my picture using photobooth. Mommy just recently added the feature to her Iphone but I can't work it as well and sometimes she discovers 32 pictures of just my forehead using different effects. So here are a couple of examples of when I've talked my family into playing with me on photo booth.

Thanksgiving Fun

We have just been enjoying this Thanksgiving weekend. We had a wonderful meal at Grandma's house and Grandpa Great and Grandma Bev joined us. Very pleasant. (Of course Cara slept through the whole meal and ate her own Thanksgiving by herself at the table!) And the rest of the weekend has just been spent being with each other and enjoying family. (I have slept in my clothes 4 nights in a row!)

Yesterday we kept with tradition and did the Post-Thanksgiving hike of Angel's Landing. It wasn't our best weather...it was still a little chilly when you get to the windy spots but the weather was beautiful. I hiked all the way up to Scout's Lookout by MYSELF! Very little help from Daddy and no riding on the shoulders at all!

How awesome are they?! The first one is of me when I was 18 months old (refer to this post). And the second one was of Cara wearing the same outfit. Mommy meant to get a picture of Cara smiling and happy and showing the difference but she threw a tantrum and the last second. HA! This is really how Cara feels about her Uncle Marty though. She crawled right up on his lap and sacked out.

He's Home! He's Home! He's Home!

And he did it. He made it. He's home. Uncle Marty is here! Aunt Becca got him good at the airport in Salt Lake City. He was so surprised to see her and they talked the whole flight to St. George non-stop. They made all of the people waiting for him at the airport wait forever getting off the plane because some little lady passed out in front of them and they couldn't get by to get off the plane! Too funny! It was so wonderful to hug him. He's a really good hugger.

And everybody was worried that we wouldn't love our Uncle and would be all scared of him....nope...try again :) Nothing but hugs and kisses and sitting on laps from us! WELCOME HOME UNCLE MARTY!!!!!!!!!!

We are T minus 15 hours and counting for Uncle Marty and Aunt Becca to walk off a plane! That's right, Uncle Marty is going to be surprised by Aunt Becca in Salt Lake by being on the same flight home with him...he thinks she's not coming until Wednesday!!!!! (Oh shoot...I hope he has no reason to log on to my blog between now and then.......)

We are very excited to see him and hug him. We wish Grandma Great could be there tomorrow and are still struggling through the steps of her sudden loss but tomorrow will be a bright happy day! In the mean time, we get to watch one of her kitties!!

Meet Gadget! He's very nice and a very loud purrer and he and Gabby seem to have finally come to terms with one another and seem to tolerate and maybe even like each other. (Don't mind Cara only kind of half way being in that shot..she ran around and tried to plant herself in the picture when she figured out what I was doing...and sadly she has pink eye so she kind of looks out of whack!)

Grandma Great

This lovely lady is my Grandma Great. She's my Grandma's Mom. We loved her and her kitties. But today we had to say good bye. Last night she peacefully went to see our Heavenly Father which was a little unexpected for us and too soon. We wish she could have seen Uncle Marty come home while still part of this earth life but she got to take a peek sooner than us.

We love you, Grandma. We will miss you during this temporary separation.

Happy Birthday to You!

Today is our Daddy's birthday. Happy Birthday, Daddy! And you would think my Mommy would have a picture of my Daddy posted but no. She doesn't have a photo of just him. Weird...

Anyway, last night Mommy and Daddy celebrated by attending a concert at The Jubilee of Trees (which is raising funds for Aunt Angie's NICU). They saw a band called "/Fictionist/". And they loved it. Daddy had played music with the lead singer, Stuart Maxfield, before and grew up around his family. It was great concert.



Now normally we would post about what an awesome Daddy we have but the fact that we need to go because he is playing "hide and seek" with us probably says it all!

For Uncle Marty

This is a special video just for Uncle Marty. We were going to post it next week but Uncle Marty won't be checking his email that P-Day. Watch the video and I bet you can guess why!

Cara-isms

My little sister is funny. She's speaking in complete sentences but she looks so small that it's comical.

A few of our favorites:

Mommy: Cara do you want (insert your choice of food/beverage/clothing item)?
Cara: Ummmm, no. (Said like she's giving it thought despite the fact that she's not. And then she'll take it.)


Cara: I want a cookie. (We were making Halloween cookies.)
Grandma: I think you have had enough. It's time to go home and go to bed.
Cara: Yes, I want the cat.
Grandma: (She's a pushover when Cara uses full sentences.) Okay how about half?
Cara: I did not ask for half a cat. (I'm serious...Mommy and I were both there...we heard it too!)


Cara: (Upon waking from a nap all sweaty and with the shakes at Aunt Angie's house.) My mommy is so strong. And my daddy is busy.

She said that phrase probably 20 times when Aunt Angie got to hang out with us on Friday.

Pain...

What did you do with your weekend? This is what Mommy did.



Group Kick Training. Three straight days...eight hours a day. (Okay maybe Rex, her trainer, talked fast so they were out in an average of six, but they worked their butts off...scuse me..bums off.)

My mommy is going to be a Group Kick instructor with my grandma (who also spend the weekend with Rex) at Summit Athletic Club. She ROCKS at it. She has to learn all the moves and then video tape herself teaching a class to fully certify. She loves it though and is very excited to make this happen.

Actually maybe she'll be excited next week when she can move again. I'd say give her a pat on the back, but she'd squeak and then faint as you touched her sore trapezius.
