A bid for sanity

So as Mommy was giving me bath Friday morning, she was losing her mind. She didn't think she could do another day with those box elder bugs and Aunt Margaret was using the basement for cello lessons all afternoon which leaves Mommy and us girls trapped upstairs. She was being vocal about her frustrations and was lamenting the fact that if she had known about the bugs then she just would have gone to St. George to watch Aunt Becca's state play off game.

And then suddenly, Daddy, being the genius that he is, says..so go. Mommy just kind of sat there. Really? She started washing me a lot faster and telling Siena to sit on the potty. After a few minutes of convincing, Mommy flew downstairs at 11:00 am and we were on the road by 11:40. Mommy didn't call anybody in St. George. Grandma and Grandpa had our uncles out at Lake Powell so Mommy knew she couldn't call them anyway. Oh wait, she did call Aunt Angie to tell her she was coming but Aunt Angie had to work most of the weekend. This was our first trip with just Mommy and at first things went smoothly. We stopped at Fillmore for a pit stop and then back on the round. That's where things got a little rocky. We made three additional stops. 5 minutes after leaving Fillmore, Siena had dropped her binki where a driving Mommy couldn't get it. Quick stop at the Cove Fort exit. Then just oustide Parowan, I started in with the crying. Quick pit stop for a snack for me. However, I wouldn't really focus and just wanted to play. Back in to the car seat I went which upset me a great deal and Mommy had to stop in Cedar City to try and get me to take a binki. After that stop, Mommy just decided to let us scream if it came to it. We were less than an hour away. Luckily, I decided to be nice and so did Siena.

We walked in to a house full of soccer girls waiting to go to a team night. We could hear Aunt Becca coming up the stairs and so we waited a the top. SO WORTH IT. Aunt Becca screamed and jumped up and down. We told her not to tell Grandma and Grandpa when they called. They finally came home at 9:00pm that night and boy were they surprised. Our car gave us away so there were no real surprised faces but they were still excited.

We're so glad we came down! Aunt Becca played her final soccer game for DHHS. It was a hard fought battle against Judge Memorial and they lost 1-0. So heart breaking, but at least we were there to cheer her on! We love you, Aunt Becca!
