I know! We should go up north!

Hahaha! We like to get in our trusty white Prius, Mozzy, and get out of St. George. A lot. And this weekend the Larsen Family Reunion was happening in Midway for the Fourth of July.

In fact, we are in the car so much that Mommy almost made the crazy decision to KEEP DRIVING and head to Seattle with the Preslars and visit our Romney cousins. Crazy Mommy. That is a 20 hour drive. Iva is grateful she snapped back to her senses. However because the Preslars hopped in the car and left almost immediately after we arrived at their house it meant we had about 36 hours to play in SLC just as our little family.

So we went to the zoo. Duh.

And then we watched Lexi and played with the guinea pigs!

Iva even loved them...too much. She took a chunk of fur from poor Lulu.

The next morning we started out our Independence Day Celebrations by playing at Seven Peaks! We were really surprised by the smallish crowd. It definitely wasn't too crowded. We had a great time and probably would have stayed all day!

Not a great picture, but it's significant because it's Cara agreeing to go down the slides on the tube. She was so brave this trip! It was amazing.

And these pictures make me laugh because Mommy made me go down by myself and it ended up slightly disastrous. Here's a hint: that tube shouldn't be around my middle.

We eventually had to leave and go get ready for the Larsen Reunion! Mommy took some time to do our typical Fourth of July hair and then we headed up the mountain to Midway!

We just have too much fun!

We really have a lot of fun in our little family. I have been feeling very grateful that I get to do silly things with my children and that they are well behaved and that my husband is employed. I feel a great need to thank my Heavenly Father and let Him know that I recognize this blissful part of the ride and I really am overwhelmed with gratitude.

I have braved the City Pool twice with just me and the girls. That's a big deal! Actually, we also rented out the city pool with our friends one night and it was a blast. Siena just goes up and down that hydro tube and jumps off the diving board with fervor. Cara has really been practicing her swimming skills and they are coming along! Check out her "Deadman's Float"! She kept doing it over and over.

We also took the time to tell the girls about one of their ancestors for Family Home Evening. Turns out, Miles Romney, their great great great grandpa, basically built St. George. I had no idea and I don't think Pete really did either. One of his most famous works is the St. George Tabernacle where he spent a year each on two spiral staircases. They are beautiful, but unfortunately the Tabernacle was closed when we ran down there. I took the girls back the next day but forgot my phone aka my camera!

One of the more silly things we have been doing is playing with a new app called Face Juggler. Isn't this picture awesome?!

This week in pictures...

Iva loves to sit by the pool with us and eat pretzels and play with the pool rings.

But seriously. She keeps doing downward dog over and over! Here she is at the splash pad. Soaking her hat every time!

Best baby bum shot ever!

I got a special treat from Aunt Angie and got my hair straightened and my nails painted. I LOVED it.

Iva then got herself into a tight spot due to her new mobility. Of course we took pictures before helping!

Ooo  and then both Cara and I got a treat from Grandma in the form of new swim suits which we of course had to pose in.

Filling up our summer days

In a major way.

Mommy doesn't sit still. She likes to fill each day up to the brim! We took a quick trip up north because well...why not?!

Mommy taught at 5:30 am and then we headed up. This meant Mommy just laid around at Aunt Rachel's house. She was tired! We kind of enjoyed the chance to just chill!

We of course took a multiple trips to the zoo now that the full African Savannah was open with the train! Daddy and Iva got photo bombed by the giraffes!

We also went down to City Creek to visit Temple Square and just play around while the Preslars had other obligations.

Our Mozzy hit a milestone on the way home.

Can Mommy just take a minute and say she was mildly disappointed that no Seven Peaks trip happened because it dropped to below 70 degrees for a high on Saturday that weekend in SLC? Madness.

Don't worry she spent the next week making up for it in St. George!

Uncle Eric decided he wanted to try and surf with one of the little girls and I was the obvious choice since clearly I'm brave enough. Actually...I was terrified during the first try. You can see that I'm gripping his legs so tightly that I kept moving his swim suit.

We went down and then I begged to do it again. I kind of figured it out and thought it was fun so Uncle Eric threw in the rope!

Good times.

And THIS is how our little Miss Iva spends a lot of her time. In the bear crawl position. She doesn't move forward yet. Just backward and side ward in a pivot maneuver.

And finally yesterday we decided to go check out Aunt Becca and Uncle Phil's house in Las Vegas. Mom, Dad and Aunt Becca took us out for an afternoon on the strip. It was hot but we loved all the sights!

We went to the Rainforest Cafe and had a terrible experience. We waited over an hour for our food. It was awful, but so did everyone else in the restaurant! Boo!

And then to make it worse, turns out the MGM no longer has a lion display. It's been gone for TWO YEARS, but Mom and Dad didn't know that. They tried to appease us with the dragon head outside of the KA theater. We were only mildly impressed.

But look...the Statue of Liberty!

And a giant chocolate bar!

I just had to sit on this hand chair.

We finished it off with a quick evening swim at Aunt Becca's pool. Iva loved it! She kept splashing Daddy when Mommy would pull out the camera!
