Fun Family Photos

Our Uncle Eric is getting ready to serve a mission for our church so my Grandma wanted to make sure that we got some good family photos before he left. Allie was even there! It was crazy hot, but Mom managed to get some cute photos of us on her own phone. We can't wait to see the big ones.

Our baby cousin is HERE!

Aunt Angie had her baby last week on probably the one day that worked for everyone! Last Thursday morning, Uncle CJ dropped off Lexi to us and then we hung out at the gym while Angie brought baby Allie Kathleen Jensen into the world. She was 8 lb and kind of made a rough but FAST entrance. We adore her. Like so much. Iva especially. She fights to hold the baby. 

I secretly think Lexi liked her new baby sister because it meant she got to sleepover at our house! We got to break in all three bunk beds. It was fun.

Seriously...summer is our season

We love summer!! We have spent plenty of time at city pool swimming our guts out...

We made it out on to the boat with Grandpa. Iva took a little while to warm up to it!

I LOVED it. I begged to go kneeboarding!

We played on the beach plenty though. This particular day a storm blew in right as we left.

Grandpa took me out climbing. I was a bit nervous on the climbs at Veyo, but I'm getting better.

We even caught a fire truck parade downtown! We got sprayed with water guns, got loaded up with candy, and had our eardrums blasted by the sirens.

Mommy and I ran in a 5k the next morning for the University of Utah Burn Center. It was awesome. We got sprayed by fire hoses every 1000 feet or so.

The best part was the foam party finish!

It was an awesome way to start a Saturday and I beat my own 5k record by 3 minutes! (At our best guess!)

June..oh sweet June

I really think Mom has enjoyed having no school. She loves to fill our days with swimming and sno cones and shenanigans that sometimes include just ignoring us while we run wild in the house!

We have made sure to hit city pool a few more times...

Try and figure out a good school for Iva's sleep...

Sister times!

On Saturday we actually made sure to find time to play with Daddy! We ran off to Zion to our favorite swimming hole. We always try to go fairly early in the day to avoid the crowds and it typically pays off!

I'm pretty sure this was Iva's first time to the Pinecreek Swimming Hole!

We did make it up to the waterfalls at the top but we left our camera down below so that we didn't risk getting it wet!

I was the only one brave enough to jump with Dad in the end. Cara loved the watefall slide up at the top, but wouldn't jump.

The water WAS pretty dang cold!

Oh I know! Let's go to SLC!

We had been debating about whether we would get a chance to run up and see our SLC cousins before our big Romney Reunion in San Diego in June and at the very last minute, Mom and Dad decided to go up the last weekend in May!

We left Thursday night after work and stayed for the weekend. It was nice! Salt Lake had still been stormy and a little cool the whole week, but we brought the summer heat with us!

We snuck off to the zoo on Friday morning because the Preslars kiddos were still in school. Hussani the gorilla greeted us as soon as we walked into the Ape House. He made sure to check us out. Iva kept waving at him and signing gorilla!

We enjoyed pretending to be bears...

And our favorite reason to go to the zoo was that they had brought back the dinosaurs. I begged Mom to take a picture of us running away from the T-Rex!

And then wanted to show us liking him.

We also had to check out the bird show now that it was back for summer.

Iva was thrilled...in the literal sense of the word. She was two parts excited and one part terrified of the swooping.

Iva also loved the hammock in the backyard and would ask to swing.

That night, the Preslars elementary school was having their big carnival and of course we went! We got our faces painted...

And enjoyed the blow up obstacle courses!

The next morning we went BACK to the zoo while the two big cousins had cello lessons. We really wanted to show dad the dinosaurs.

Iva just loves her Daddy lately. She begs to stay with him and gets quite upset when he leaves the room and closes the door.

But BOY did we wear that girl out. She slept HARD.

We also had time to run up Millcreek Canyon with Daddy's friends and roast food over a fire! I had a hot dog, but we all really wanted marshmallows! It was so much fun even Mom was  a little sad that St. George doesn't have anything like that so close!

You would think we had enough food earlier, but we actually finished our night off with ice cream from Baskin Robbins. I think Cara enjoyed hers the most based on her face!

Sunday brought a lazier feel to the day. Mom had to sneak out of church early with Iva who was throwing a temper tantrum. 1 minute after being in the hammock and this is what happened.

We LOVE our trips to Salt Lake, but we are so excited that the next time we see our Preslar cousins it will be in SAN DIEGO for a whole WEEK!!
