Sunday and Monday were much more spring like! We played up on the Red Hill (with almost every other family from up north!) and then got yummy ice cream. Do you know how you can tell that you see your cousins a lot even when they live 4 hours away? You don't take hardly any pictures with them. Thanks, Aunt Rachel for sending us these.

Olympics and Valentine's Day
Um my mom and dad seem to love the Olympics...A LOT. We are getting no sleep over here because we have to stay at Grandma and Grandpa's late every night. Maybe mom and dad should get a digital antenna. Oh well. Iva seems to love it
She really is watching the TV in this picture!
Uncle Phil stopped by to watch us play in the sun.
Here we are on Valentine's Day. Nothing special. Pictures proved impossible.

One weekend behind
Hey! It looks like we are only one weekend behind now! So I'll quickly try and tell you about our weekend with our Preslar cousins last week before they show up at our house for this weekend's adventure.
We ran up north right after school last Friday so that we could go to a University of Utah Red Rocks Gymnastic meet. The Ute ladies are always ranked nationally and they delivered. We were able to witness their best meet presentation yet. We loved it and loved having Aunt Rachel and her girls with us!
It was pretty cold and rainy but we did make it to the zoo (no surprise), but Mommy didn't pull out her camera once except to get some video of the cute orangutan, Acara, doing some surprising tricks. When we got back from that adventure, our cousin world's collided and we got to play with Lexi while Aunt Angie celebrated her birthday at a Jazz game. Loved it!!

Iva at 3 months
Guest post by Mom:
Boy, sometimes the time just flies with a baby and then sometimes it slows down a little. That's what this last month with Iva has been like. A little slower. It feels like I've been able to appreciate her as a baby. It's been nice.
Let's see...things to remember about her. She's a very chatty baby. She prefers for someone to be talking to her and paying attention to her. She's coos and says the ah goos and loves to try and imitate your tongue already. She's not a crier necessarily, but she will wail to let you know something needs to change. I actually find her cries quite informative. She's the first babe that I remember being able to tell that she was crying because she was bored versus hungry or hurt. Her cry is starting to lose that newborn sound.
She loves to smile with her whole body. She's a very wiggly baby. She's moving pretty much constantly. When she lights up for me, she arches her back and starts kicking her legs if she's laying down or in someone's arms. It's very fun. I'm still the only person who can get her to giggle when I tickle her neck and arm pits. She won't do it all the time either, but she will smile for anyone.
She is a champion eater. Pretty much every two hours, but can go longer when I need her to. Her spit uppiness (that's not a word) changes from day to day. Grandma's house seems to make her more prone to urp it all up. Must be like marking your territory for dogs. The twins have spit up everywhere there so she feels the need to.
She constantly drools though. She's always putting her fists in her mouth or her clothes or a binki, but her shirt is always soaked. I actually find it interesting because she is purposefully grabbing things to put in her mouth. She will grab your finger and guide it to her mouth. Granted you have to put your finger next to her hand, but still it feels really grown up for her age!
Unfortunately she spent most of her third month of life sick with a bad stuffy nose. That made sleep interesting for about a week, but during the day she was remarkably happy. She also travels really well. Two trips up to Salt Lake under her belt and she seems to be getting better at it. (Of course we will truly test that theory when we head to the big D-LAND in about 10 days!)
I love to snuggle and kiss her little body. Her big sisters get a kick out of talking to her and making her smile. They are terrific helpers.
Look at this bald babe. (She actually dose have hair, it's just mullet style all low and in the back...)
Her she is surrounded by her cousin, Chase's carnivore collection.
Meeting Uncle Braden's first little girl, Emery!

Rounding out January..just in time for the middle of February
So once again it's been awhile since Mom has downloaded pictures from her phone to her computer. Imagine her surprise to find a week's worth of photos from January! Ooops.
We had a nice sunny Saturday afternoon and we decided to make the most of the jacuzzi.
Trying out waving my top layer of hair that refuses to curl.
Getting excited for Disneyland! We get to go on February 23rd or so the calendar from Santa says!
Mom spent some time making us countdown chain. (Thanks, Pinterest!)
It looks like we're trying out wrestling...but really Lexi is just showing me love.

Love
Guest post by the Mom:
You know those moments with your kids that take your breath away? When they look up at you and smile and you see so clearly the sprinkle of freckles across their nose, the wonder and hope and love in their eyes and you are left kind of catching your breath? I love those moments of course. But do you know what I found the last time? I was struck this last time I had one of those moments that my mom must have had these moments to with me! I used to be the little girl. I have always knows that my mother loved me and that she'd do anything for me, but as I grow in my role as mom myself sometimes I am knocked off my feet with just how much she must have loved me. I love this gift of motherhood. It's a sneaky gift. You get to have insight into how much someone else loves you. I love it.
