Boy, sometimes the time just flies with a baby and then sometimes it slows down a little. That's what this last month with Iva has been like. A little slower. It feels like I've been able to appreciate her as a baby. It's been nice.
Let's see...things to remember about her. She's a very chatty baby. She prefers for someone to be talking to her and paying attention to her. She's coos and says the ah goos and loves to try and imitate your tongue already. She's not a crier necessarily, but she will wail to let you know something needs to change. I actually find her cries quite informative. She's the first babe that I remember being able to tell that she was crying because she was bored versus hungry or hurt. Her cry is starting to lose that newborn sound.
She loves to smile with her whole body. She's a very wiggly baby. She's moving pretty much constantly. When she lights up for me, she arches her back and starts kicking her legs if she's laying down or in someone's arms. It's very fun. I'm still the only person who can get her to giggle when I tickle her neck and arm pits. She won't do it all the time either, but she will smile for anyone.
She is a champion eater. Pretty much every two hours, but can go longer when I need her to. Her spit uppiness (that's not a word) changes from day to day. Grandma's house seems to make her more prone to urp it all up. Must be like marking your territory for dogs. The twins have spit up everywhere there so she feels the need to.
She constantly drools though. She's always putting her fists in her mouth or her clothes or a binki, but her shirt is always soaked. I actually find it interesting because she is purposefully grabbing things to put in her mouth. She will grab your finger and guide it to her mouth. Granted you have to put your finger next to her hand, but still it feels really grown up for her age!
Unfortunately she spent most of her third month of life sick with a bad stuffy nose. That made sleep interesting for about a week, but during the day she was remarkably happy. She also travels really well. Two trips up to Salt Lake under her belt and she seems to be getting better at it. (Of course we will truly test that theory when we head to the big D-LAND in about 10 days!)
I love to snuggle and kiss her little body. Her big sisters get a kick out of talking to her and making her smile. They are terrific helpers.
Look at this bald babe. (She actually dose have hair, it's just mullet style all low and in the back...)

Her she is surrounded by her cousin, Chase's carnivore collection.
