Final Summer Blow Out!!

On Friday, we made a bid for Salt Lake City.  We wanted to get in one last trip to Seven Peaks and use up our discounted food cards.  This means we will probably be in SLC every other weekend for the next 6 weeks or so but hey...we LOVE our cousins!

Romney had her birthday on Wednesday and got some guinea pigs for her birthday.  We were so excited to meet Ruby and LuLu!!

It was a little cool in the morning, but we still headed to Seven Peaks just before lunch and were fortunate to only have a few rain sprinkles!

Mommy made me go down the slides.  Both Daddy and I had a MUCH better experience this time!

We had $70 in food money to spend...actually a little more with some vouchers and we spent it all.  It didn't go quite as far as you would expect, but we still enjoyed our fries!!!  

Later that day we also decided to hit the zoo right before the gates closed.  Their new splash pad/park was open and the Preslars hadn't been on it yet either.  

And then things got interesting.  As in a full blown thunderstorm with very loud thunder, very close lightening, very large raindrops coming down very quickly, a little bit of hail, and some wind.  It was hysterical.  We got soaked just trying to find cover in a building!!  Both Emma and Cara decided it was more scarier than an adventure.

We wrapped up the weekend with a birthday celebration for my cousins, Romney, Mary, and Kate at Oma and Apa's house.

First Days of School!!!

We've had a big week.  Cara's first full year of preschool kicked off on Monday!!

Cara was so excited.  She's back with Miss Traci at Summit's preschool.

And I finally got to start.....KINDERGARTEN.  WAHOO! I had my first day today at Panorama Elementary.

I am in Mrs. Stewart's class and I only know one other person!  I'm still really excited though.  Mommy got a little choked up when she left me, but I couldn't wait to get started.  It's going to be awesome!! We're growing up!!!

We couldn't leave out this video.  On Cara's birthday, she kept dancing anytime she walked anywhere but as soon as a cell phone came out she would stop that is until after dinner.  We also included a clip of me singing at the beach. I love to make up songs.

Camping!

This last weekend Mommy went to Texas with her mom and sisters so we had Daddy all to ourselves.  We decided to get in our annual trip up to Lava Point in Zion National Park and camp!

We had fun as usual and loved hanging out in the tent. We also got to see the movie "Planes" and eat pizza and just smother our Daddy with our love.  The one bummer was that Cara had her 4 year well check on Thursday and got one of her shots and unfortunately Saturday morning her leg had a big rash and puffed up.  Benadryl helped but it kind of made us nervous!

And it actually got worse from there, but now it's better. We spent some time walking around the St. George Temple Grounds on Sunday and when we woke up on Monday our Mommy was back!  Yay!

Long Beach

After our adventures in San Diego we made sure to drive up the coast to visit Grandpa and Grandma Great in Long Beach.  Somehow we didn't get a SINGLE picture with them, but we will next time.  We love staying at their house and playing with Chloe.  Instead of sneaking in a day at Disneyland like Mommy desperately wanted to do, we went down to the Aquarium of the Pacific for more animal time.   It was worth it!

We fed some birds, well Mommy and Daddy did.  I wasn't brave enough to hold it.

And I met some characters.  We also got to see a lot more fish which we really enjoyed!

We didn't spend the whole day there of course!  We still wanted to get some beach time in!!! Cara threw a MASSIVE tantrum upon getting to the beach. She still wanted NOTHING to do with the water.  She ended up like this after about 30 minutes at the ocean.

The rest of us played while she took a much needed nap!

Eventually she woke up and wanted to play in the sand!

And of course Mommy had to play in the water before we left!

Sea World, Day 2!

Cara woke up the morning of the zoo and all thru the zoo begging to see the dolphins again.   Mommy and Daddy decided to skip the Safari Park and do a day 2 Sea World.  Great decision.  We managed between the two days to see every show except one and that includes the special night time ones!

Mom and Dad made me go on the ride Journey to Atlantis because I was barely tall enough.  We did it first thing and I HATED it.  It's probably the biggest roller coaster I've been on!  The drop wasn't so bad, we once again got SOAKED, but it was the big twisty roller coaster part after the drop that I didn't like.

Ahhh the spinny ride Mommy couldn't go on. That's more our speed.

We watched the Blue Horizons show again and this time we go to meet the stars after!

Our favorite part of the sea lion show is when the sea lion does this!

 Cara got to spend some time alone with the walrus.  It was crazy to watch him swim!

We picked out our prizes while at Sea World.  We each got a different kind of penguin.  I got a Magellanic penguin named, Rainbow Tail and Cara chose a macaroni penguin that she named Macaroni.
