It is understandable really. I don't think we have mentioned it formally on the blog (something we will have to rectify) that our mom is pregnant, but she is and she is hit the half way mark on the 4th of July weekend. She also taught a LOT of classes at the gym last week to make up for the lack of teaching while we were in San Diego. So with all that going on we had a pretty low key 4th. It's a wonderful holiday celebrating all that makes America great. Plus it celebrates the best parts of summer! I think Mom has been feeling guilty that she didn't do more. She had dad buy us some fireworks, that counts right?
We spent the first part of our afternoon at the city pool with Dad! That was probably our favorite part! It was a little cloudy and kind of "cool" (high 80s maybe low 90s!) and so we had the pool almost to ourselves! Cara eventually went down the hydrotube ALONE and with no lifejacket!
We absolutely LOVE the diving boards especially with no lines!
Mom did attempt to make patriotic hair...it's supposed to be a star...and she made us cry while trying to do it. We will probably NOT be requesting this one again.
When it came time to light off fireworks, the three littles DID NOT like them even the fountains. Mom spent the night inside with them!
How could I forget? We actually spent the evening at Grandma's house playing with her new wiggle cars that she bought. I think the grown ups liked them just as much as the kids. We also had a water fight. Grandma and Dad ended up with a long standing water fight between the two of them that involved my Grandma dumping a whole bucket of water on my dad from the balcony while he was racing on the wiggle car!
Mom managed to snag some photos of us with sparklers on the next night. We really hope she will let us do a lot more on the 24th! Let's get her some sleep!
